Physical therapist walking with a patient along the clinic corridor

Clínica de la Rodilla · Monterrey

A clinic devoted only to your knee.

We measure your knee, explain what is going on and treat in order, from the most conservative option to the most complex. Surgery is the last option and, if it is needed, the same team performs it.

Orientation

Where does it hurt?

Mark the area and we show you what we check there. It is a starting point for your assessment.

This guides, it does not diagnose. The diagnosis is made at your assessment, with imaging.

Order matters

We begin with what asks the least of your knee.

We go only as far as your case calls for, and measure again before each next step.

  1. Therapy

Easing pain and inflammation so the knee can tolerate movement again.

  2. Guided exercise

Strength with measured loads, not by guesswork, and a new measurement at every stage.

  3. Injections

When therapy alone is not enough, a well-indicated injection can open the way for exercise.

  4. Regenerative medicine

PRP and stem cells for the cases that are candidates, after evaluating your knee.

  5. Surgery

The last option. Decided without hurry, with your studies in hand, and performed by the same team that already knows your knee.

Therapy programs

A program for your knee and for what you want to get back to.

  1. Pain, stiffness or wear

    Regain tolerance for movement.

  2. Loss of flexion or extension

Regain the range to bend and straighten.

  3. Strength and stability

A strong leg and a secure footing.

  4. Injury and return to sport

    Control and progressive loading.

  5. Confidence in daily activity

Prepare a return to your routine.

  6. Preventive and sports assessment

For people without pain, to know their knee early.

A person may work on more than one need. Your program is defined after evaluation.

Regenerative medicine

With your own cells.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cells come from your own body. They are indicated after evaluating your knee and your studies, and not every case is a candidate.

Measured follow-up

Improvement is not a promise. It is measured.

At every stage we measure again with the same instruments as your first visit. You take home your record: where you started, where you are today and what comes next.

Dr. Víctor López Valerio

Orthopedic and trauma surgeonKnee specialist

The goal of a good evaluation is not to operate quickly, but to understand precisely what is causing your pain.

We start with what is conservative. If surgery turns out to be the right call, it is decided with your studies in hand and done by the same team.

  • What is Clínica de la Rodilla?

It is a Monterrey clinic devoted only to the knee. The joint is evaluated with measurements, a diagnosis is defined and treatment follows an order: first therapy, guided exercise, injections or regenerative medicine. Surgery is kept as the last option and, when it is truly needed, the same team performs it using minimally invasive techniques.

  • Do I have to have surgery?

Almost never as a first step. Most knee problems improve with well-directed conservative treatment. Surgery is considered when the damage no longer responds to those options; it is explained with your studies in hand and decided without rushing.

  • What if my case no longer has a conservative solution?

There is a plan for that too. Depending on what your case needs, we refer you to the best specialists; knees that no longer have a conservative solution are treated directly by Dr. Víctor López Valerio, the clinic’s medical director. You are not left alone in any scenario.

  • How many knee rehabilitation sessions are needed?

There is no fixed number that applies to everyone: it depends on the starting point and the goal. What is defined from the first evaluation are the stages of the program and the concrete signs that show when to move from one to the next.

  • Do I need a doctor’s referral or studies to come?

You can come for an evaluation even without studies. If you already have a diagnosis, an MRI or a previous surgery, that information helps define the plan more precisely.

  • Can I come even if I have no pain?

Yes. We also see athletes and people who want to know the state of their knees before something fails: mobility, strength and stability are measured, and you leave with a clear starting point and what is worth working on.

  • How is progress measured?

With observable signs: how pain changes through the day, how far the knee bends and straightens, how the leg responds to progressive loads and which activities came back, such as walking, climbing stairs, training or working.
